前眾議院議長普洛西 (Nancy Pelosi) 周一公開為三藩市監事陳詩敏（Connie Chan）作出背書，支持她競逐其長期代表的聯邦眾議院議席。
普洛西在即將發布的影片預告中表示，陳詩敏是「最能延續為三藩市奮鬥的人選」，並強調自己熟悉選區、國會運作，以及陳詩敏的政治能力。影片畫面以金門大橋為背景，普洛西與陳詩敏同框出現。
普洛西宣布不再尋求連任後，該國會議席成為三藩市多年來首次全面開放競爭的選舉。
現時主要競爭者包括州參議員威善哥（Scott Wiener）、前國會幕僚賽特（Saikat Chakrabarti），以及其他民主黨候選人。
最新民調顯示，威善哥在多個群體中領先，支持率約四成；陳詩敏與賽特支持度接近，分別約18%與17%。
普洛西與陳詩敏長期在政治與工會系統中關係密切，後者獲得多個工會及教師、護理團體支持，而威善哥則獲加州民主黨背書。
外界認為，普洛西的背書可能在初選階段對組織動員及選票結構產生影響。
